Flame Elementium is the main trading currency and the top-tier crafting material in Torchlight Infinite. Unlike most ARPGs, Torchlight Infinite has no gold — the economy is a pure barter system run through the Trade House, and Flame Elementium is the unit everything ends up being priced against. If you want something good, you want Flame Elementium.

The tier structure is why Flame Elementium is the one that matters. Dust and Sand handle levelling gear and mid-tier crafts, but every serious endgame item — the pieces carrying five or six affixes — is built with Elementium. Flame Elementium only drops from Tier 4 maps and above, which keeps supply tied directly to endgame progress.
Flame Elementium is used at the Arms Dealer to add or replace affixes on high-tier Priceless gear, which is where most of it goes. Only item level 85 and above can roll T1 affixes, and T1 and T0 rolls are what separate a functional build from a strong one — so the crafting that actually decides your ceiling is exactly the crafting Elementium pays for. Beyond crafting, it's the universal currency of the Trade House: legendaries, crafting materials, trinkets and fossils all trade against it.
This is where Torchlight Infinite differs from every other ARPG, and it's worth understanding before you order.
Flame Elementium is account-bound. It cannot be handed over in a direct player-to-player trade the way currency works in Path of Exile or Diablo. Torchlight Infinite is built around the Trade House, and that's where value moves between players.
So delivery works through a Trade House transaction. SS13 Afterlight launched on 17 July 2026 with a Night Watchers theme built around guiding lost souls on their final journey. Coffins appear throughout the Netherrealm; light a guiding lantern and a funeral procession carries the soul toward the underworld — but lighting it also pulls wraiths to you. The lantern changes colour depending on the situation, and green means a full-speed pull where enemies respawn as you kill them and the loot is better.
The season also adds Tide Whisper Selena, a new hero whose trait system is built around ground skills, alongside new active and support skills and new legendary gear.
What that means for currency: a new hero and a new farming loop send the whole server back to zero on gear at the same time. Everyone is crafting simultaneously, Elementium demand spikes, and the players who get ahead early are the ones who can afford to keep rolling affixes while everyone else is still farming Tier 4s. Seasons run roughly 91 days on average, so the window where an early advantage compounds is measured in weeks, not months.
Farming works. The standard routes are running endgame Netherrealm maps at high Timemark — Timemark 8 is generally the recommendation, with Timemark 7 as a fallback — using Pactspirits to raise drop rates, placing Trait Cards before a run to push rarity and quantity, and farming bosses for rare loot to sell on. You can also disenchant unwanted gear with Edwin for Flame Dust and Flame Sand, then trade those up for Elementium in the Trade House.
The catch is that all of it is gated behind Tier 4 and above. To farm Elementium efficiently you already need the gear that Elementium buys. That circular dependency is the real reason people buy — it isn't laziness, it's that the bootstrap phase of every season is where the grind is slowest and the payoff is thinnest.
Buy if you're bootstrapping a fresh season, if your build has stalled at a crafting wall, or if your playtime is limited and you'd rather spend it on bosses than on farming currency you'll consume in one crafting session. Farm if you're already deep into high Timemarks and enjoying the loop.
It's safe when delivery goes through the game's own systems and never touches your account. Trade House delivery is exactly that — a normal in-game transaction that thousands of players complete every day.
Rules worth following with any seller: never share your password or email, never accept an offer that involves someone logging in as you, never hand over a verification code, and treat a price far below the rest of the market as a warning rather than a bargain.
